Lawrence Cartmell
Bsc (Hons). DO. C.H.E.K. Level II

Lawrence was educated at Leeds University, graduating with a Bsc (Hons) in 1978. He attended what is now the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (London) in 1980, graduating in 1984 with a DO. He then began private practice in London, returned to BCOM as a lecturer in 1986, before emigrating to Wellington, New Zealand in 1988. He has continued in private practice, in Wellington, registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ) since then.

Lawrence has furthered his professional development and interest into the rehabilitative or “re-ablilitation” field through the C.H.E.K. Institute (USA) achieving Level II status. He has also attended a number of NOI Group (Australia) courses concerning the understanding and treatment of chronic pain through education, movement and learning.

Workplace ergonomic workplace assessments have been part of his practice since 1996 and his clients have incuded: Medical Centres, The Ministry of Health, The Internal Revenue Department, @Work Insurance and numerous individual workplaces.

Appointed by the Minister of Health to the Health Practitioner Disciplinary Tribunal (Professionl Member) in 2007, he resigned in 2014 and was appointed to the OCNZ as a Council Member (Practitioner Member) under the HPCA Act 2003. The appoinment is due to terminate in 2023.

Lawrence’s other interests include film, following the Phoenix football team and attending the theatre.

Alison Wainscott
Remedial Massage Therapist (MNZ)

Alison has a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage, a Diploma in Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy, and training in Oncology Massage. She has been in practice since 2005 and is registered as a Remedial Massage Therapist with Massage New Zealand.

Coming from a background in educational design , Alison is passionate about lifelong learning. She enjoys helping clients understand more about their bodies so that they can more confidently adapt to the demands of work and play. 

Alison enjoys walking, pilatees, tramping and has recently learnt to walk on a tightrope.
